Overview

All correspondence with any contact with a mobile number requires their consent. Before any correspondence with a contact occurs, agents must have consent to receive messages from their organization through Insellerate.

Consent is only required one time. If a phone number is associated to any additional applications, additional consent is not required.

Consent Status

The colored icon next to a contact’s name represents their consent status.

Red: When a user starts a new conversation with a contact, the icon is red by default, representing no consent. The text box is greyed out and the user cannot send messages.

Yellow: When a user requests consent, the icon turns yellow.

Green: When a contact gives consent to a user, the icon turns green and the textbox is enabled.

To Send Consent

  1. Click the Consents button to view consents with all contacts related to the application.

  2. Click Send Consent to the contact you would like to message.

  3. An automated message is sent to the contact and the consent icon turns yellow.

  4. The contact can choose to accept or decline/ignore SMS correspondence.

    1. If the contact replies “START,” they receive another automated message. Their consent icon turns green and the textbox is enabled. The user can now message the contact freely.

    2. The contact can withdraw their consent at any time by replying with “BLOCK.”

Who May Send Consent

Users may not send consent for any other user in the organization. Managers may view other conversations, but can may only send consent for themselves, not on behalf of other roles assigned to the lead.

Consent from borrowers/co-borrowers is not granted at an organization level. It is granted for each conversation between an agent with an SMS number and the number they are attempting to contact. However, consent from external contacts (real estate agents, referral partners) is granted at an organization level.

Partner Consent

When a partner is added, and the associated partner has granted consent for SMS, the consent will apply to all applications associated with the partner. You can text the partner on any associated application without asking for additional consent.
