Unsubscribe Groups and Transactional Emails

Description

A transactional email details a transaction and must be delivered to the involved recipient, even if they have opted out of emails. In Insellerate, new or existing email templates can be labeled as transactional. Once labeled, the email is sent to the recipient irrespective of their unsubscribe preferences or global opt-outs.

To receive this functionality, the Insellerate team must implement your account and give the account permissions to unsubscribe groups. Once the permission is given you will see the following:

  1. The Sendgrid subaccount will contain two new Unsubscribe Groups labeled Marketing and Transactional.

     

  2. If the new Transaction Content toggle is set to ON, it will force the email to be sent to the recipient irrespective of their unsubscribe preferences or global opt-outs.

     

  3. Emails labeled transactional will not give the recipient the ability to opt out of any emails.
    Emails NOT labeled transactional will be sent on behalf of the Marketing Unsubscribe group.

     

  4. Marketing Emails will have new opt-out links: Unsubscribe From This List and Manage Email Preferences.

     

    • Unsubscribe From This List unsubscribes the user from future emails tagged as Marketing ( NOT Transactional) Emails.

       

    • Manage Email Preferences takes the end user to the Email Preferences page where they will only have the option to opt out of Marketing Emails.

 

Note
When a user opts out of receiving Marketing Emails, they will still receive Transactional Emails.

  • When a user opts out of the Email Type toggle, they are added to Suppressions>Unsubscribe Groups.

  • When a user opts out via “Opt Out of All Emails,” they are added to Suppressions>Global Unsubscribes.
