Banner Block

Description

A banner block in an email editor typically allows users to add an eye-catching image or graphic prominently displayed at the top of an email, often featuring the main message or offer.

Choosing an Image or Graphic

When selecting an image or graphic format for your banner, consider the following:

  • JPEG format is ideal for preserving colors but may result in a significant quality reduction.

  • GIF format is helpful for adding action to your banner but may render colors less brightly than JPEG.

  • PNG format is recommended for images with sharp edges, logos, or transparent backgrounds and preserves quality regardless of size and color saturation. Large PNG images can slow down loading times, and the maximum image size for upload is 3MB with a resolution of 4000 x 4000 pixels.

Adding a Banner Block

  1. Drag and drop the banner block into one of the structured containers.

  2. Click the banner block that was dropped. Options to add an image open.

  3. Select an image from the Image Gallery or stock photos OR add a linked path to an image.

    • Image Gallery: Upload or drag/drop an image into the structured container.

    • Stock Photos: Use the search feature to find stock images through keyword searches.

    • Linked Path: Add a linked path to access an image from a shared storage space.

      • If you plan to use the image once:

        • Select Leave as external link from the drop-down menu.

        • Click the checkmark.

      • If you plan to use the image for multiple email campaigns:

        • Go to the Project tab and insert the link.

        • Select Download to the gallery.

        • Click the checkmark to save the image for future use.

    • Change selected images by clicking the Change Image button, if needed.

    • Edit a selected image by clicking the Edit Image button, if needed.

      • Clicking the Edit Image button opens the image editor where the selected image can be modified. Users can apply filters, resize and crop images, draw over them, put any text over them, add stickers and frames, and apply backgrounds.

      • Clicking Save saves the completed edits.

  4. Set the orientation of the banner. It can be horizontal, vertical, or square crop.

  5. Use the filter to make adjustments, if needed. The photo filter refers to an image processing tool that enables users to apply different visual effects to their images to enhance their appearance and convey a specific mood or style.

  6. Link the banner to a URL.

    1. Enter the URL into the link section.

    2. Validate the link.

  7. Add alternate text if desired. Alternate text (alt text) is a description of an image that appears in place of the image if it fails to load or cannot be displayed and is also used by screen readers for accessibility purposes.

  8. Add an additional picture, if desired. Add an additional picture to the banner image. A logo or another image can be layered over the top of the picture.

    • Adjust the aspect ratio as needed. Changing the aspect ratio of an image involves adjusting the proportional relationship between its width and height. The default setting is ON.

  9. Turn the Add an Anchor Link toggle to On to add hyperlinks that take readers to specific paragraphs within the email.

  10. Choose the setting for the Hide element toggle. Users have the option to hide the text on either the desktop or the mobile application.

    • Click the desktop icon to hide the text on the desktop application.
